About Dr. Patty

I’m glad you’re here! I’m Dr. Patty, a licensed psychologist passionate about helping adults navigate life’s challenges with hope, curiosity, and resilience. My practice focuses on supporting individuals as they learn to live with circumstances that cannot be changed, while finding ways to honor their lives and grow through the process.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Honors Psychology from Rutgers University and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida. During my APA-accredited internship at Duke Medical Center, I specialized in Adult Health Psychology, and I’ve since worked with adults and caregivers in settings like Moffitt Cancer Center, Duke Cancer Center, and Duke Fertility Center. My experience also includes neuropsychology clinics and research on discrimination and health inequity. These experiences have deeply informed my therapeutic approach, which is rooted in empathy, evidence-based practices, and a commitment to helping clients thrive.

I specialize in working with adults (18-80) who are facing emotional, psychological, and relationship struggles tied to often unchangeable circumstances—whether related to health, life transitions, or social connections. My approach is rooted in creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, validate their struggles, and discover new ways to move forward. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help clients build meaningful lives, even in the face of emotional or physical pain.
